Panagiotis Koutsogiannakis

Background

Panagiotis was born in Athens, Greece in 1995. He graduated from the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he defended his thesis in the field of  GPU Acceleration of Numerical Methods for Lifting Flows. During his studies, Panagiotis did an internship at DNV-GL, where he focused on the coupling of Simulation Platforms for the solution of complex thermodynamic problems present in the maritime industry. During his last year at NTUA, Panagiotis also participated at the Monaco Solar & Energy Boat Challenge (MCSEBC) with the OCEANOS NTUA team, where he performed an optimization study for the propulsion system of the team’s boat. Now, Panagiotis works as a PhD student and a Researcher at the University of Trento.

With his participation in the INSPIRE project, Panagiotis aims to produce high  quality research while exploring the capabilities of novel materials for the protection of structures and develop innovative mathematical techniques for their study.

In his free time, Panagiotis enjoys practicing photography and traveling around the world.
